Why I am running again

I have lived in Cortland County for the past 25 years.  I love Cortland.  The community is vibrant and friendly.  But we have to make key investments in the people and services of the County to keep it vibrant and to improve the lives of residents.

We also have challenges facing us.  In order to ensure a high quality of life for all citizens of the county, leaders need to listen to residents and stakeholders, examine options using data, prioritize needs, and then decide the best course of action.  I believe that is what I’ve done for the last four years.

I want us to focus on solutions. Envision the best for Cortland County and work to achieve it. Sometimes that means reaching across the aisle and working together with all legislators on a common goal. And sometimes that means advocating against an idea or proposal. I will use my voice and my knowledge to represent those in my district to the best of my ability.

As the daughter of a small business owner, I understand the impact government can make on a community.  I have spent my professional career advocating for all people to have access to those resources and services that enhance our quality of life.  And I would be honored to have another term in the Cortland County legislator to continue to fight for the constituents of L.D. 5

What I Stand For

  • Key investments that improve the lives of county residents: livable wages for county employees; access to mental health and substance use treatment; affordable housing
  • Economic development to expand business, cultural and recreational opportunities
  • Focusing on solutions. Bring together and listen to key players on critical issues, keep an open mind, search for solutions.
  • Sound planning and assessment: Assess the issues realistically.  Plan for the long term while addressing the issues of today.
  • Encourage participation in government:  Listen to the voters, be transparent in decisions and processes.
